    let me explain. these statements made by girls are implicitly qualified. so “no one likes me”=”no one i want to like me likes me.”

    “creeps who ask me out”=”people i would rather not have like me b/c they make me question my attractiveness/personality/etc.,” OR, “that guy who sits behind me in math and mouth breathes all the time”, OR, “i’m calling these people creeps b/c i feel sad/frustrated that i can’t attract the guy i want to attract, and I’ve encountered these same types of boys so often I’m about to fall down a slippery slope of self-doubt.” the end.

  Having been on both sides of this one, it means he’s not interested but doesn’t want to make a big deal about it. Accept it, refuse to be used as an emotional crutch and stop hanging out with him so much.

      You can be really good friends and still just roll your eyes and mock him when he starts sniveling. Just consistently make the point that this line of conversation is ridiculous and he’ll stop bitching to you about it. If you don’t, he’ll continue to see you as his “nice friend” and nothing more.
